Norman Field

I am saddened to learn of Norm’s passing. I have many strong memories of his brilliance, compassion and perspective on the both/and scenarios that come with good living. He lived gracefully despite the challenges he endured. Norm was my boss for several years. He was always interested in different views and championed his team to take on opportunities to dig for truth and extend fairness. He could be fully present to share tears of sadness and joy and cared for the well-being of anyone he met. He always remembered birthdays and could tell me who else he knew that shared the same birth date. He was an amazing presence and the spirit he leaves is lasting. Thank you to his wonderful family for sharing his precious life; he loved you dearly.

I just learned of Norm’s passing and I’m saddened. Norm was a “full-of-life” type of guy and had a wonderful soul. I enjoyed working with him in Florida and cherished his friendship. He always shared a joke and a smile. Norm – may your soul rest in peace.

So Norm, this blind squirrel finally found the acorn. Working with you was always so much fun, even through the difficult days we faced at Equality Specialties. Your quips still come to mind regularly. I miss the Christmas song duets you and Kayla would sing from your respective offices on either side of mine!

How sad to hear of your passing. I had many fun days working with you and enjoying your passion of life. And really, only you could oversee the greatest, most challenging basketball pool, and create the infamous “Norm Field” rule. It will be remembered forever to those who have followed in your footsteps.

No one loved the Honeymooners more than Norman. To this day, he could remember lines from episodes that he saw 50 years ago, and still laugh as hard as he did when he first saw them. He and I used to love taking actual situations in our lives and retrofit them to lines from episodes.

One of the beautiful things about Norman was his relationships with his friends. He didn’t just feel close to them. He truly loved them. And of course, he adored his family.

Rest in peace, my friend. Margaret and I will miss you.
